Re-painting the city, The TOKYO MURAL PROJECT is an art project that shapes the future of Tokyo.
The SHINTORA Area is undergoing rapid redevelopment as it grows into Tokyo’s future international city center. The TOKYO MURAL PROJECT aims to commission a collection of large-scale murals along it’s main street “Shintora Street” as a major landmark for the area.
The first mural of this on-going urban art project will be unveiled to the public on October 14, 2017, during it’s final stages while the artist adds the finishing touches.
The TOKYO MURAL PROJECT is an urban redevelopment project for the centrally located Toranomon neighborhood, newly coined as the SHINTORA Area. The project seeks to explore a new approach to urban development led by art in the form of murals. We hope to inspire and ignite the next generation of innovators, artists and entrepreneurs that will help shape the future through their own works, and projects to come.
